Work.Life creates spaces where people genuinely enjoy coming to work. Warm, human, full of energy and that’s entirely down to the people who run them.

Behind the scenes, our Finance team plays a critical role in making that possible. Clarity, control, and good decisions don’t happen by accident. They come from people who know how to get into the detail, make sense of it, and keep things moving forward.

This role sits right at that intersection.

About the Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to join us on a 3-month fixed term contract, with a possibility of extension. This is not a “manage from a distance” role. You’ll be in the numbers, in the systems, and in the day-to-day reality of how finance operates in a scaling business.

You’ll take ownership across two functional areas – financial control and management accounting in the short term, bringing structure, clarity, and momentum where it’s needed most. Additionally, one of the objectives of this role is to help implement finance workflows that are automated and simplified, either through our finance system or with the use of AI.

Experience in NetSuite is essential, and we’re particularly interested in someone who has operated as a sole or lead finance person in a startup or scale-up environment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:
  • Together with the Finance Assistant, owning day-to-day finance operations end to end, working directly in NetSuite to maintain accurate, reliable financial data
  • Managing month-end processes, particularly balance sheet controls and reconciliations, and ensuring timelines are met across all entities
  • Reviewing and improving current processes where needed, without overcomplicating
  • Using AI and automations as a first call when it comes to solving problems
  • Document, and where possible, automate key finance workflows to support a transition to a leaner team structure
  • Supporting reporting and giving clear visibility on performance
  • Supporting year-end audit queries
  • Partnering with stakeholders across the business to answer questions and unblock decisions
  • Bringing a level of calm, control, and clarity to a fast-moving environment

What Good Looks Like:
  • Things are organised, accurate, and easy to understand
  • Month end close runs to schedule and outputs are reliable
  • Finance feels like a support function, not a blocker
  • Issues are spotted early
  • Stakeholders feel confident in the numbers they’re working with
  • You leave things in a better place than you found them
Your Skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience as a Finance Manager or similar role, covering both control and management accounting
  • Proven experience using NetSuite in a practical, operational way – this is essential
  • Background in a startup or scale-up environment, ideally as a sole or lead finance person
  • Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership quickly
  • Able to balance detail with pace, aka knowing when “perfect” isn’t the goal
  • Clear communicator who can translate finance into something others can actually use
  • Experience working in or alongside tech or AI-led businesses
  • Comfort using tools or workflows that support automation or efficiency
Why This Role Exists:
We are in a period of change. Two key members of our Finance team are moving on, and we need someone who can step in, understand quickly, and take ownership without needing a long runway.

But this isn't just a holding role. We're using this period to be deliberate about what our finance function looks like going forward, what needs to exist, what can be automated, and where human judgement genuinely adds value. We want someone who can help us answer those questions while keeping the function running well.

If you’re someone who enjoys getting into the detail, making things work properly, and leaving a function stronger than you found it, this will feel like a good fit.
